I think that in the story she was supposed to be sarcastic, like if she was sorta criticizing him for caring so much about that sort of things. Although probably the Omega people wanted it in there for a different reason…

Its funny how the bond makers had to put the Mondeo in the film, otherwise they couldnt use the Aston DBS.

Bond has always been a bit of brand *****. In the earlier adventures Ian Flemming depicts a world of glamour and opulence partly through consumer goods that Bond and other people use.
Having said that, this looks more like a fucking car commercial than a feature film.

Aston Martin was owned by Ford at the time the movie was made, as were Jaguar and Land Rover, all of which were featured prominently in the film.

It can be implied that Bond rented the Mondeo, though.

The part where Vesper Lynd gawps at Bond’s Omega is just plain ridiculous. I mean she’s a smart person so why the heck would she oogle at some watch brand?

Apart from that though the film’s great.

I couldn’t believe how much Sony product placement was in that movie. Practically everyone had a Vaio laptop! I’m surprised they didn’t have someone playing on a PS3 lol.

james bond driving a Mondeo is fukcing rediculous. Not only is it blatently shameless advertising but it gives Mondeo drivers an underserved sense of accomplishment.

Haha, never seem a film like it for product placement! I’m amazed they managed to fit in a plot around it all
