A video with the scenes of Vesper’s death and wonderful song in background named “Death of Vesper” composed by David Arnold. You can find it on Casino Royale Soundtrack.
Vesper had betrayed James and then She had died. This part is making me crying always when I see it. But I love it! And music is fiting it perfectly.

A neat scene, but what always bugs me is how clear the water is. A large structure is collapsing into what is essentially marsh and there isn’t any dirt and dust clouding the water? I guess it would make this ending less dramatic if visibility were only half a meter, lol.

Oh, thanks, because to me, it looked like she hit her head on the cage to knock herself out. XP

She made a new deal with them, her life and the money for James’. She knew that the organisation would have killed him if they saw her alive.

She held onto the back of the elevator hard so he couldn’t get to her.. Cause she pushed herself back it left a thud.

You also find out in Quantom of Solace, that she made another deal, her life and the money for Bonds..
So the man at the end of this would’ve shot Bond if she’d lived =(
She was my favourite Bond girl!

Eva Green is brilliant. That stare at :56 conveys so much confusion, love, and sorrow. Trying to find some bit of justice for her wrong doing to James by taking her life, but even though she wronged him he still wants to save her. She simply couldn’t live with herself.

    Sad scene.

In “CR” and “QoS” we see the very beginnigs of Bond, as a 007 agent.
This is NOT the same James Bond like in the past movies, his story is written anew.
We can see Bond earning his “double-0″ status, first drinking Martini, and … getting his attitude against women.
This is mainly build by his tragic experiences with Vesper and Strawberry Fields.
James comes to realize, that in his job he means a threat to other people, especially those very close to him.

sean connery had a very warm charm in the earlier james bond films, he had a dignified swagger, this one seems to be alot more cold and serious than the earkier ones, i wonder why?

i still love it though, cant wait to see quantum of solace

BUt… I’ve read another version which says she kills herself cause she knew they wouldn’t be together after that… they will be followed all the time, so she sacrifices herself. :’(
the movie doesn’t clear that point. We just have the number she left to James on the sms. x(

Pd: sorry, my english is not so good x_x

  21. niperwiper on December 9th, 2008 9:57 am

the part where she kisses his hand and he tries to get into the cage is absolutely heartbreaking, especially later in the film

Vesper it’s so important in the James Bond series because being sophisticated is what Vesper tried to teach on James Bond. Bond will be used to show delight and courtesy to his enemies since they are so sophisticated as the organization: Quantum. Bond must be at his level to finish them and not to get involved in international troubles. That’s her legacy: Sophistication.
